GREAT FINDS AT THE DOLLAR STORE
One Dollar can get you a great find at your local Dollar Store.
When I think of items priced at $1 and $1.25, I immediately think of dollar stores such as Dollar Tree and Family Dollar.

Even Target stores have a $1 area now. Here are 20 fabulous finds that are absolute bargains in a dollar store.

1. Dollar Store Reading Glasses
Coming from a person who wears prescription eyeglasses and ‘readers glasses (non-prescription vision magnification),’ I love the ability to find fashionable non-prescription glasses at the dollar store.
I’m prone to misplacing my eyewear, so I’ve gotten into the habit (and convenience) of having a reading pair from the dollar store in nearly every room of my home – and in my car.
I find that this also helps me to hold on to my prescription glasses longer.
You would be surprised at the number of compliments I get on my reading glasses!
2. Great Dollar Store Find: Greeting Cards
A lovely greeting card can easily cost $5 to $10 in another store.
Often, after the receiver of your card opens it, I would imagine the card itself is thrown away or set aside and forgotten.
Why not check out your local dollar store for a nice selection of greeting cards for nearly any occasion—many times for only $1 out of pocket? Many of the cards are often two for $1.
At that price, you can spring for two cards and still come out ahead.
3. Seasonal Decor
Every season you can find decorations at your local dollar store. Only $1 to $1.25 each!
4. Cleaning Supplies at the Dollar Store
Need cleaning supplies? They have sponges, scrub brushes, buckets, and items to clean your vehicle.
5. Foil/Plastic Wrap
I keep a supply of plastic wrap and wax paper on hand. I’m still a Reynold’s Wrap type of girl, but the dollar store foil will work in a pinch. My local dollar store does carry Reynold’s Wrap, but there’s not much on the roll.
6. Gift Bags & Gift Tissue
The dollar store is my first stop when I need a gift bag, be it a wedding, birthday, or baby shower.
Have you noticed something about tissue paper in the bag that makes a gift look even more elaborate and pretty? It’s all about adding that special touch!
7. Great Dollar Store Find: Party Supplies
The dollar store is one of the best places to find inexpensive party supplies and decorations for nearly any occasion.
Nearly any occasion, from birthdays to New Year’s to St. Patty’s Day, Halloween, and everything in between.
8. Storage Containers
So many different types of storage containers are available at your local dollar store, from smaller containers to larger storage bins.
10. Notebooks
I love the different selections of notebooks, binders, and writing pads they carry.
11. Poster Boards & Construction Paper
I remember when the large poster boards were much more than a dollar.
Now, you can also buy a dollar-worth pack of different-colored construction paper and foam boards.
What a steal!
12. Glassware & Dishes
There’s an array of glasses and plates available.
During Thanksgiving, I picked up some nice themed serving plates.
13. Balloons
The dollar stores have a nice selection of shiny mylar balloons.
14. Decorative Vases
This really could go under the party deco/supply area as well.
You can find cute vases that complement table settings, such as the one in the picture above.
15. Picture Frames
They have all types of frames, from large to small.
You can use the small ones as nameplates at your next dinner party.
I’ve used them as giveaways to guests – with a photo of themselves inside.
16. Coffee Filters
Coffee filters are a staple at the dollar stores.
Sometimes, they even have brown organic ones.
17. Bandages
Bandages are another staple you can find in abundance at the dollar store.
18. Bobby Pins
Why pay more when you can get an entire card of bobby pins for only $1?
19. Cotton Swabs & Q-Tips
You can get what looks like a gazillion cotton swabs and Q-tips for one dollar. Will I ever run out of them??
20. Envelopes
I always purchase my envelopes from the dollar store now.
They have a selection of plain white envelopes, security envelopes, and manila-style envelopes—both large and small.
I’ve also found invitation-style envelopes.
These are just some of the great bargains in the dollar stores.
