Ready to increase your income with some money-making ideas for Airbnb hosts?
Here are some insanely simple tips for Airbnb hosts that I have used to propel my side income business to that of a Super Host.

Disclosure: I have included some Amazon affiliate links below, and I may receive commissions for purchases made through these links at no additional cost to you.
Being an Airbnb Host has proven to be a nice side hustle that has generated a steady income stream over the past few years.
Those additional Airbnb monies have allowed me to live practically rent-free and aided in my quitting and early retirement from a federal government job.

I’ve found that the little niceties are what guests remember and appreciate.
Those fine details, in turn, translate to guests leaving positive star reviews that help skyrocket your ratings.
Those ratings equate to increased bookings and more earning potential.
Many hosts also use Airbnb when they travel.
As a host turned guest, you are privy to experience the setup of other hosts, allowing yourself to be on the lookout for ideas to help your own Airbnb business.

Earn extra income with Airbnb.
Here are 11 ideas for your Airbnb business and tips for those considering starting one.
(1) Provide a mini welcome basket of goodies.
Include water bottles and snacks such as chocolates, potato chips, and fruit in a guest welcome basket.

Some of your guests may arrive late at night after being on really long international flights.
A small welcome basket often helps to stave off hunger until the following day and shows goodwill as a host.
(2) Set up a coffee station.
I have a small coffee maker in my guest room that brews up to four cups at once.
My coffee station includes instant coffee, creamer, regular sugar, and Stevia sweetener. I also have at least two tea varieties for those who may prefer tea.
(3) A SMART TV FOR GUESTS.
Most TVs on the market today are Smart TVs…meaning they can connect to the internet, come with HD resolution, provide streaming video, and have other features.
My Airbnb provides guests access to a Netflix login and password, HULU, and a voice-activated Amazon Firestick.

(4) PROVIDE A PORTABLE HEATER
Even in Sunny Los Angeles, we have our share of chilly nights.
I provide a small ceramic portable space heater and extra blankets for nights when guests feel they need just a little extra heat.
The heater has a built-in safety feature that automatically shuts the unit off if it is tilted over.
If you want to get nice and fancy for your guests, consider offering cozy electric throw blankets.
(5) PROVIDE EXTRA AMENITIES BASED ON YOUR LOCALE.
My guests often tell me they’ve chosen to visit Los Angeles because of our sunny and near-perfect weather.
My guests often make the beach their first stop.
Therefore, I provide a beach bag with towels and sunscreen tucked inside.
I also have portable beach chairs and an umbrella if guests want to bring them to the beach.
(6) PROVIDE EASY ACCESS TO EXTRA SHEETS AND PILLOWS.
Having extra pillows and sheets in the room is one less thing your guests will have to worry about requesting from you. Additional towels are also an added plus.
(7) SUPPLY SHAMPOO, CONDITIONER, SOAP, AND A HAIR DRYER.
I save on shampoo and conditioner by purchasing the bulk size of Pantene products from Costco or Amazon.
Your guests will appreciate you having a hair dryer on hand, as it will be one less bulk item they will have to pack.
The small hotel-size soaps can also be purchased on Amazon at a reasonable price.
(8) EASY ACCESS TO WIFI DIRECTIONS.
I have a cute WIFI plaque on the wall (also listed in my Airbnb online guest instructions) with the WIFI name and password.
(9) LOCKBOX FOR KEYS | KEYLESS ENTRY DOOR LOCK.
I only supply one set of keys. Therefore, I provide a lockbox in case two visitors travel together and want to go out at a different time.
Installing a lockbox was one of the best host ideas I’ve implemented in my Airbnb business.
I also use my lockbox to leave keys for the guests when I won’t be home when they arrive.
I merely change the code to the last four digits of their telephone number—something easy for them to remember.
I particularly like the wall-mounted lockboxes with a lit keyboard when you open the cover.
Guests appreciate this small but convenient feature, mainly if they arrive at night and perform a self-check-in.
I’ve installed a keyless entry door lock on another property. These locks are convenient, secure, and can be integrated with other smart devices in your home. Your guests don’t have to fumble for keys when their hands are full, and you can program access codes for guests and service providers.
(10) PICTURE FRAME WITH YOUR CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT TIME.
Since I now have the times posted in a small picture frame on the desk in the guest room, guests haven’t had a problem adhering to the check-in / check-out times.
Who would have thought that such a simple gesture would provide so much? Guests no longer have to guess the check-out time.
(11) SUPPLY A NOTEPAD, INK PENS, A CITY MAP, AND A GUIDEBOOK OF BEST PLACES TO VISIT IN YOUR CITY.
Having these items in the room is a nice convenience for your guests: a notepad, pencils, ink pens, city maps, and guidebooks of your city and the surrounding areas.
A city map at your Airbnb is important because it allows guests to easily visualize their location within the city, understand nearby attractions, restaurants, and public transportation options, and get a better sense of the neighborhood, ultimately helping them plan their stay and navigate around more effectively.
BONUS #12 Create a Guest Welcome Guide
Create a Welcome Guide for your guest. This Etsy template provides space for a welcome message, emergency numbers, WIFI information, house rules, amenities, local attractions, places to eat, and more.
The guide is 12 pages, including the cover. This is a WORD document that lets you change out the photos and prefilled words. Click here to order your copy.

TOP 10 AMENITIES FOR YOUR AIRBNB
Great article. I leave some types of food in cute glass container so guest have pasta, rice and sugar on hand.
I also have what I call the “donation basket”. Basically sealed or well closed food that guests donate for other guest when they come. Because often they can buy food and never use it. Because the value is too small to carry back home they are happy to donate.
People really enjoy finding donated food & drinks they can use.
Tania. I’m sure your guests appreciate that you leave food items. My guests will often leave unopened and sealed items for the next guests.
Thanks for good ideas.
