Are you offering the amenities for your Airbnb listing that draw guests to book your place?
Do you have the top 10 Amenities for Your Airbnb?
Think about it….if you as an Airbnb host were visiting someone as a guest, what would you like for them to have available for you and the space that you’re going to occupy?
I’m going to jump right into it and share the top 10 Airbnb or other short-term rental amenities that you’ll need to consider.
You can probably guess the first item on the list.
(1). High Speed WiFi
In between bookings, always check to make sure your wifi is working. Have a laminated instruction sheet with the WIFI name, password, and things to check in case the WIFI goes down while your guests are onsite…instructions such as how to reboot the system.
(2). Available Parking
If parking is available, give your guests instructions on where to park and if there are any restrictions. Parking is a prime commodity at some Airbnb locations.
As an example, your area may have street cleaning on certain days, so the guests would need to be made aware of which side of the street they should park on – depending on what day it is.
(3). A Guest Welcome Guide
A laminated Guest Welcome guide is a great amenity add on, especially if it’s your guests first time visiting your city. Include such things as the closest grocery stores, shopping malls, how to work the appliances, local attractions, house rules, places to eat, and more.
Here’s my Guest Welcome Guide that you can order on from my Etsy shop.
(4). Ironing Board and an Iron
Yes, it’s true! Some people do still iron!
Your guests might want to iron out any wrinkles in their clothing from being tightly packed in their suitcases.
If you have your iron and ironing board tucked away in a hard to find place, make sure you note the location inside of your Guest Welcome Guide.
(5). Snacks & Water
A basket of goodies is a great nicety and prime amenity. At the very least, provide coffee and tea with a kettle for heating water. Cocoa is great in case your guests have kids.
This reminds me of an entire house we rented in Atlanta. We got in pretty late and I was thinking of how nice it would be to have a cup of coffee.
I opened up the kitchen cabinet and got a big grin on my face when I saw the huge coffee can. When I opened it up, the can was absolutely empty. 🙄
I was so disappointed.
Don’t be THAT host. Provide some snacks and at least a couple of bottles of water.
(6). Hair dryer, shampoo and conditioner.
Your guest will love that they won’t have to pack a bulky hair dryer.
Also provide soap, an extra toothbrush or two, and a couple of tubes of travel size toothpaste. Add to that list some extra linen, perhaps a blanket, extra pillows, and a portable heater.
If you get a portable heater, make sure it’s one with the safety feature that turns off if the unit is tipped over.
(7). Laptop friendly desktop.
Whether your guests need space to work remotely or just more arm room when mapping out tourist places to visit, they will appreciate the convenience of a laptop friendly desktop.
I also like to include some paper, pens, and a stack of sticky notes, tape, and a small stapler.
(8). Lysol and cleaning supplies.
In the midst of Covid and the pandemic, guests are seeking Lysol products and cleaning supplies, along with extra paper towels and extra bathroom toilet tissue.
Don’t forget to have disposable gloves on hand for your guests to use the cleaning products.
(9). Air conditioner
An air conditioner is great to have if you’re in a region that brings the heat…and here in California…it can really get hot.
If you have an A/C unit, leave instructions for your guests on how to turn the unit off and on and how to adjust the temperature.
A bonus for you, the host, is to have a smart unit that you can control remotely before the guest arrive and to ensure it’s turned off after their departure.
(10). Cell phone charger
It’s inevitable that someone is going to forget to pack their charger. I certainly have forgotten mine on several occasions. What about you?
Cell phone chargers are so affordable now and there are so many different types and variations.
That concludes the top 10 amenities for your Airbnb or short-term rental.
